This study investigates the cognitive, physical, and social parameters that may determine the outcomes of community-living elderly people, including risk of dementia. The aim of these projects also include supporting community-living people who are in charge of care of their family, such as demented elderly persons.
|Interdiciplinary study for the protection of human rights of demented persons|
This is unique study based on the collaboration of medical doctors, ethicists, and jurists, that aims at providing a ground for protecting human rights of demented persons by clarifying the ethical situations of these people.
|Study on the risk evaluations of elderly people’s vehicle driving|
This study links the cognitive functions and driving skills using a computer-based driving simulator. These data are also linked to the history of real accidents. The results of this study are expected to offer evidence-based findings that may successfully predict future accidents associated to cognitive impairments of elderly people.
